““Be-Will-Der”” or “Be-WILD-er”
To be wild. To go out.
BeWilder Woodworks portrays outdoor themed illustrations, hand drawn and woodburned by me, Uliana.
Mountains, ocean, or nature scenes are “drawn with fire” on reclaimed pieces of pine or cedar wood. No piece is identical to another, each has a unique design, illustration, and wood-shape. With each woodburning illustration, I wish to inspire outdoor adventure and wish to bring out the natural creativity in others.
I love creating custom pieces for clients. Especially when there is a beautiful story behind the art they would like me to create. It’s quite a feeling to know your artwork creations will travel from a person to somebody they love in their life.
Creating is extremely important to me, because it exercises my brain in ways that other activities don’t. It gives a feeling of accomplishment once I’ve completed a piece.
Inspiration comes in waves. Sometimes, I have to let myself go out into the mountains or the ocean to get reacquainted with nature. I come back reenergized to create art through woodburning. I am in love with the feeling of people’s reactions when they hold a piece of my artwork. It’s quite incredible because I created something that didn’t exist before and now I am sharing it with the world. I believe artists and makers will understand the feeling that I’m talking about.
I’ve always had a creative passion to make things with my hands. I love to work in my dad’s woodshop and get inspiration from his woodwork and all of the wood he has laying around. About 3 years ago, my father handed me a woodburner that he usually uses to sign his work with. I began using it as a tool to draw. Started drawing mountains, trees, camp gear, ocean waves; things that I am inspired by on a daily basis.
I loved how fluid and meditative woodburning is and continued it with a passion.
I am an adventurer, crafter, dreamer and maker.
There is a subconscious and innate burning desire in me to make and create. I’m here to share it with you.
Ideas went in through my eyes and my mind, and out through my hands.
